Daily duas

The small duas for the day

Waking, eating, travelling, before sleep, the everyday duas of the Prophet ﷺ, in Arabic, transliteration, and meaning.

Upon waking

morning

Alhamdu lillāhilladhī aḥyānā baʿda mā amātanā wa-ilayhin-nushūr.

All praise is for Allah, who gave us life after taking it from us, and to Him is the resurrection.

Before eating

food

Bismillāh.

In the name of Allah.

After eating

food

Alḥamdu lillāhilladhī aṭʿamanī hādhā wa razaqanīhi min ghayri ḥawlin minnī walā quwwah.

All praise is for Allah who fed me this and provided it for me without any might or power from myself.

Entering the home

home

Allāhumma innī as'aluka khayral-mawliji wa khayral-makhraj.

O Allah, I ask You for the best entrance and the best exit.

Leaving the home

home

Bismillāh, tawakkaltu ʿalallāh, lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.

In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah.

Before travelling

travel

Subḥānalladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn.

Glory be to the One who has subjected this to us, for we could never have accomplished it ourselves.

Before sleeping

evening

Bismika Allāhumma amūtu wa aḥyā.

In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live.

In times of worry

comfort

Ḥasbunallāhu wa niʿmal-wakīl.

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.

Why these duas matter

The duas the Prophet ﷺ taught for ordinary moments, waking, leaving home, sitting down to eat, are not a checklist. They're a way of folding remembrance of Allah into the small geometry of the day. Said quietly, even just in the heart, they turn routine into worship.

Inside the Sajjada app, the full collection, including duas for travel, illness, sadness, gratitude, and the prophetic adhkar of morning and evening, is searchable, with audio for each.

Bring it with you, five times a day.

Sajjada is free, ad-free, and quietly ready when you are.
